British woman is stabbed in her own home in Pinoso

53 year old British woman is stable in hospital after being stabbed in her chest at her home with a kitchen knife in Pinoso, Alicante, during what appears to have been a robbery attempt. EFE news agency quotes police and health sources which say it happened at about 12.30am on Saturday night in a property in the Casas de Pastor rural area, and that the woman was at home alone at the time. One or two people are thought to have tried to burgle the home, but as yet they have not been identified. It was the woman herself who alerted the emergency services as to what had happened. An ambulance from SAMU took her to the Medio y Alto Vinalopó district hospital in Elda where she was admitted. Her life is not in danger and her condition is stable
